Here is a caravan that I painted for the BBC for the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend at the Hackney Marshes. The caravan had the roof removed and acted as a DJ booth for the entire weekend in the guest area - the bit where the celebs hang out and have their interviews. The design was inspired by the many industrial buildings in Hackney and of course the many railway arches that are now synonymous with east London. Good times!

So in probably my most high-profile job to date Tech Moon were commissioned by the BBC to decorate the site for the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend. Here are some pictures of the archways that I painted in just 1 day! Great experience, and great fun…these were hopefully seen by 100,000 people in just 2 days.

For one I decided to create a cosmic and dreamy skyline, complete with orbs. For the other I decided to refine some orbs with a much more earthly sky - inspired by the crazy spectrum of sky that Hackney provided over the day. This second archway was in collaboration with local artist Stallion - complete with a diamond gesture at the top-centre.

Got to grips with trying to paint buildings using spray paint at the Bournemouth Summer Ball 2012. Drawing buildings is a passion of mine and if I can garner some skill in painting them large and quick I think I will be on to something…still this is quite an impressionistic end result.

Corner House Cafe - These paintings were for a local Cafe in Sussex. The owner wanted a series of black boarded signs that could be interchangeable with each other. Some tight typography all completed with brushes.

Threw up a couple more murals at a beautiful festival up in the north of Wales called Gottwood. The main attraction was the Boxford Caravan - a caravan turned DJ booth.

And so after moving back to Brighton from Bournemouth the Tech Moon journey did not stop. We got a commission in the newly established Wahoo Bar in central Brighton…spending a week solid painting 3 walls in a very tight dealine of under a week to the grand opening. Lots of fun retrospectively - we had to sleep in the place, but it was worth it in the end. I went for a 50s surf scene of a chevvy and a beach - longboards etc…here some final images.

Taking the skills learned from the trials of the Secret Wars, me and Krishna landed a commission through Bacardi with a bar in Bournemouth called ‘Sherbet Lounge’. Although this was a great opportunity, this was also a huge job to complete - drawing over an entire air vent system throughout the floor plan.

The buzzword was ‘retro’ and I had creative flow over whatever I drew - deciding on a computer game/films/gadgets theme… Highlights included a giant Star Wars battle and a timeline of iconic shoes - which sparked a craze of slinging sneakers over power lines across the town ;)
